Who You Are Matters

I am from Valencia, a suburb about an hour north of LA. I am planning to move to South Korea after I graduate this semester. My plan is to save money for the next 6 months and then continue doing e-commerce while living in Korea to make USD while spending Won. I prefer living in Korea as the cost of living is much cheaper and I prefer the culture and food. 


I am similar to my mom as we are both impatient and like things done as soon as possible. I am like my dad because we are both funny and like to engage in conversations with other people. I am different from both parents because I am more impulsive and free spirited while they are both more risk averse and conservative.

I have developed my own expectations for my life and my future. When I was in high school, a lot of my decisions were based off my parent's expectations of studying hard and going to college. Although those factors are still important to me, I feel like I am now fully in control of my own destiny and path. 

My roommate, Leo, is very driven and hard working. He is someone I respect and admire as he often also encourages me to wake up earlier, work harder, and be more productive. 

I feel a special connection to deer as they are very cute and have been my favorite animal since I watched Bambi as a kid. I feel a special connection with the Joshua Tree as we share the same name. Also, I visited the Joshua Tree National Park with my family when I was younger and my parents would joke about how I was named after the tree. I remember being disappointed because they looked like ugly grown up cacti.

My friends and I always debate who is the Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) of basketball. There is a strong consensus that there are only 2 possible choices. But, when it comes down to which choice is correct, there is always heated debate and disagreement. Random Post 2

 My random post for today is about why Korea is an amazing travel destination. I recently went last winter break so I have a fresh recollection and experience in the country. Also, I am very excited to be going again this summer break with my family. What stuck out to me the most about Korea was the cost of living. I have lived in or near LA my entire life which unfortunately has some of the highest living costs in the world. In LA, it seems like just breathing costs money. If I go out to lunch and order a burger, fries, and a drink it wouldn't surprise me for the bill to be $25 plus tip and tax. For the same $25 you can order almost anything at a majority of the country's nicest and most upscale restaurants. The minimum wage in Korea is about $8USD compared to almost $20 now in LA and similarly the cost of living I would estimate to be about the half of living in LA.   Today we are redefining the geography of community and accepting shared accountability for common human values. We have the chance to extend the notion that all men are created equal to every human being on the planet. This will require global structures and products we are only beginning to imagine....
