Job Description

It was my senior year of high school and I was in desperate need of money. My friends and I were planning a graduation trip to Korea, but my bank account was sitting at a measly $87. I was discussing this dilemma at dinner with my best friend, Nick, and his dad. We were eating at local favorite - Pho Sure - a Vietnamese noodle restaurant. Nick's father is the type of person who somehow knows everyone in the city. Sure enough, he was good friends with the owner and asked if they were hiring. The next day, I was my first shift as a server at Pho Sure. Being my first job, I wasn't sure of what to expect. Difficulties arose right off the bat - there was a language barrier as most of the staff in the kitchen were Vietnamese immigrants and didn't speak much English. Thankfully, the other servers were bilingual and were able to translate for me. Who You Are Matters

I am from Valencia, a suburb about an hour north of LA. I am planning to move to South Korea after I graduate this semester. My plan is to save money for the next 6 months and then continue doing e-commerce while living in Korea to make USD while spending Won. I prefer living in Korea as the cost of living is much cheaper and I prefer the culture and food.  I am similar to my mom as we are both impatient and like things done as soon as possible. I am like my dad because we are both funny and like to engage in conversations with other people. I am different from both parents because I am more impulsive and free spirited while they are both more risk averse and conservative. I have developed my own expectations for my life and my future.
